Craig Moves On: Returning the Engagement Ring and Reflecting on His Relationship
Craig Conover, star of Southern Charm, has revealed what he did with the engagement ring he purchased for his ex-girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, after their breakup. Appearing on the March 27, 2025, episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the 36-year-old reality star shared that he made the decision to return the ring.
“I just returned it this morning,” Conover said during the interview. “Diamonds are down right now, so [the jeweler] was like, ‘Do you care if I hold it?’ I just don’t need custody of it anymore so I took it back to the guy.”
The revelation took his friend and fellow Southern Charm castmate, Austen Kroll, by surprise, while Shep Rose lightened the mood with a playful remark, asking, “Can I borrow $100?” Despite the jokes, the moment reflected Conover’s efforts to let go of the past and move on from his relationship with DeSorbo.
The former couple, who dated for three years, announced their split in December 2024 on DeSorbo’s Giggly Squad podcast. Just two months later, Southern Charm viewers learned that Conover had already purchased an engagement ring, ahead of his breakup with DeSorbo. In a preview for the show, Conover was shown expressing his intention to propose, saying, “I’m gonna propose. She asked me to buy her a ring, and, like, I did.”
Moving Forward: Craig Conover Finds Peace After Breakup
Following their split, many fans, as well as cast members from Southern Charm and Summer House, where DeSorbo also stars, have speculated about what went wrong. However, Conover has chosen not to dwell on the negative aspects of their relationship, instead reflecting on the good memories.
“When Paige did her first breakup podcast, she said I was the best boyfriend she ever had, and I truly believe we had a wonderful relationship,” Conover shared. “I think I was one of the most supportive people in her life.” Despite the end of their romantic relationship, Conover is focusing on the positive and finding peace with the closure.
In an effort to move forward, Conover has also teased that he’s seeing someone new. “I’ve been seeing someone,” he revealed, adding, “I’ve been reminded that the universe works in crazy ways and everything happens for a reason.”
Though Conover admitted to being “surprised” by the breakup, he has made it clear that he’s not dwelling on the past. Instead, he is embracing his current state of mind, happy to turn the page and look forward to the future. “I have my memories, and we had a great relationship, and now I’m moving on in my life,” he said.
