Enrique Iglesias has shared a glimpse into his family life as his children with Anna Kournikova continue to grow. The couple, who have kept their family life mostly private, recently opened up about their children’s reactions to Enrique’s career as a musician.
Enrique, the celebrated “Bailando” singer, and his partner, former tennis star Anna Kournikova, are parents to three young children: 5-year-old twins Nicholas and Lucy, and their 3-year-old daughter, Mary. As their kids grow older, they are beginning to understand more about their father’s life as a performer.
During a recent interview with Today, Enrique described his son’s reaction to seeing him perform live for the first time. “My son, when he saw me at rehearsal, it was like, ‘What?!’” he recalled, explaining how Nicholas was captivated by the lights, music, and energy of the production. While his son had seen performances in music videos, seeing his father perform live in person left him in awe. Enrique went on to say that Nicholas likened the experience to seeing an alien or UFO, in a good way, and was completely amazed by it.
Although Enrique’s children are aware of his career as a performer, they haven’t had the chance to watch him on stage as his concerts are typically too late for them. However, that doesn’t mean his children aren’t fans of his music. Mary, his youngest daughter, has already made her love for his songs clear. Enrique shared a cute anecdote about Mary’s fondness for one of his biggest hits, “I Like It.” He revealed that when he picks her up from school, she often sings the song, and soon after, her siblings join in. “It’s the cutest thing ever,” he said with a smile.
Despite being famous, Enrique and Anna have always been protective of their children’s privacy. While they occasionally share glimpses into their family life on social media, they prioritize keeping their personal lives away from the public eye. Enrique has spoken in the past about the importance of maintaining a balance between his public career and private family life. “When I go home, back home, I want to make sure that whatever goes on in my house, it’s just for me and my loved ones,” he said in a 2014 interview.
The couple, who began dating after meeting on the set of Enrique’s 2001 music video for Escape, has long valued their privacy. They’ve built a life together away from the spotlight, and it’s clear that family is their top priority.
As their children continue to grow and experience their father’s music, fans are sure to see more adorable moments shared by the couple, even if they remain relatively low-key about their personal lives.
