Initially, Evan had plans to propose during Lollapalooza in Chicago the previous summer, but he felt that Hailie had a lot going on at the time. Instead, he decided to wait and went ring shopping during the 2022 holiday season. Evan admitted, “I kinda knew what I was after for your ring. Thankfully, your sister helped me out there.”
However, before finalizing his proposal plans, Evan felt it was important to ask Eminem for his blessing. The couple explained that this happened casually during the holidays, as Evan seized an opportunity when he saw the rapper heading downstairs to grab a birthday cake. Evan shared, “I saw your dad go downstairs and thought, ‘Alright, I got to do it right now or I’m not doing it today. I’m going to have to schedule some other time.'” Thankfully, the moment was perfectly timed, and Eminem’s response was reportedly warm and welcoming, giving Evan the green light to move forward with his proposal.
