New York Yankees’ catcher, JC Eskara, recently addressed the chatter surrounding the team’s newly introduced torpedo bats. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Eskara emphasized, “At the end of the day, you still need to swing the bat and hit the ball with the barrel.”
This past weekend, the Yankees generated significant buzz in the baseball community by utilizing these controversial bats during a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, where they managed to hit several home runs, leading to a sweep of the series.

Despite some social media backlash claiming the Yankees were unfairly changing their equipment, Eskara maintained that the new bats fall within the league’s regulations. “People are making that big of a deal now,” he noted, “But they’ve been around for a while. We’re not the only ones using them.”
Following his team’s success over the weekend, Eskara shared his intention to incorporate the torpedo bat into his future games. He explained, “After seeing all the successes my teammates have made, I’ll be utilizing one, too.”

For those unfamiliar with Eskara’s background, his journey to the Yankees has been quite remarkable. Prior to being signed, the rookie spent many years in the minor leagues, even working as an Uber driver before earning his place on the Yankees roster. His story has captivated fans and could easily be the subject of a film, as he has already envisioned Hollywood actors portraying him in a future adaptation.
