Air Commemorates Moon Safari with New Releases
French electronic duo Air continues to honor their influential debut album, Moon Safari, with new releases and performance engagements as part of their ongoing celebration of the album’s legacy.
Introduction of Blue Moon Safari
Following the reissue of Moon Safari in 2022, band members Nicholas Godin and Jumbie Dunkel have launched a newly remixed album titled Blue Moon Safari. This release was unveiled in time for Record Store Day 2023.
Renowned British producer Vegyn, famous for his collaborations with artists like Frank Ocean and Travis Scott, leads the reinterpretation of the classic album with this remix, marking the first full-length remix project officially released by Air.
Additional Offerings
Alongside Blue Moon Safari, fans can also find a vinyl-exclusive edition named Moon Safari: Live & Demos. This new content complements Air’s recent return to live performances, where they celebrated the album’s anniversary with intimate shows in 2023.
Upcoming Performances
Air is expanding their tour globally, with newly announced dates across South America, Europe, and the United States. Their schedule includes several major festivals, such as:
- Flo (Helsinki)
- La Prima Estate (Italy)
- We Love Green (Paris)
Notably, they will also perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 21st, collaborating with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra.
Legacy of Moon Safari
Originally launched in 1998, Moon Safari is celebrated as a pioneering work within the downtempo and electronic genres. Its lush textures and cinematic craftsmanship present a dreamlike atmosphere. Iconic tracks such as “All I Need,” “Kelly Watch the Stars,” and “Sexy Boy” have significantly influenced the soundscape of French electronic music in the late 1990s.

Both Blue Moon Safari and Moon Safari: Live & Demos were released on April 11th via Parlophone/Warner Music France, with the remix project officially available on Record Store Day, April 20th. Interested fans can now place pre-orders for both special editions.
