A Season Full of Surprises and Shocking Revelations
Season 3 of Yellowjackets promises to answer some of the show’s biggest mysteries, but will fans be ready for the shocking revelations ahead? Known for its unexpected twists and turns, Yellowjackets continues to keep audiences on the edge of their seats, and Krueger teased that this season will keep that tradition alive.
“There are surprises everywhere,” Krueger says. “This season does a great job of not only creating surprises but also masking them so that viewers don’t see them coming. It’s become a theme of the show to keep things unpredictable, and fans are in for a wild ride.”
Fan Theories and Speculations
One of the most intriguing aspects of Yellowjackets is the active fan community that comes up with bold theories about the storyline. Krueger revealed that he enjoys reading the theories that fans submit, often marveling at the creativity behind them. “The thoughtfulness and creativity are incredible. I’ve had a few people send some to me, and I’m just like, ‘These are great,’” he said. “It’s one of the coolest elements about this show – seeing how invested the audience is.”
For Krueger’s character, Coach Ben Scott, season 3 will bring new challenges and surprises. Although Ben hasn’t appeared in the present-day timeline, fans have speculated about what might have happened to him. Some theories even suggest he could return to the wilderness to cause trouble for the surviving girls. Krueger didn’t confirm or deny these theories but hinted that some of them might be close to what actually happens, leaving fans guessing.
Ben’s Survival Journey in Season 3
Reflecting on his approach to portraying Ben, Krueger shared that he prefers to know as much as possible about his character’s journey. “I always talk to the showrunners ahead of the season. They share information, but things can change as the season progresses. The more I know, the more I can craft my performance and understand where my character starts and ends,” he explained. This allows him to explore the depth of his character over the course of the series.
As season 3 picks up six months after Ben separated from the group, Krueger teased that his character’s story will be drastically different from that of the other survivors. “The beginning of season 3 is really interesting because it shows the juxtaposition between how the girls are living and how Coach Ben is surviving on his own,” he explained. While the girls have managed to create a thriving, functional community, Ben’s isolated existence is a stark contrast, focused solely on survival with minimal resources.
“The girls are thriving at the beginning of the season, but Ben is struggling. It’s an interesting contrast, and you really see what survival looks like when you have a team versus when you’re completely alone,” Krueger said.
A Darker, More Complex Season
Despite the seemingly lighter start to the season, Krueger hinted that things would take a darker turn. “It does get dark quickly. But what’s brilliant about this season is the way it explores the descent into a different mindset. It’s done cleverly, with many unexpected twists that you won’t see coming.”
Krueger has high hopes for season 3, calling it “endlessly satisfying.” He believes this season will not only tie up lingering storylines but will also offer fans the resolution they’ve been waiting for. “The writing is on point, and the arcs of the characters finally come together in a way that will satisfy long-time viewers,” he added.
