Alex Cooper, the influential host of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, has unveiled a deeply personal two-part documentary series titled Call Her Alex. Premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8, 2025, and now streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally, the docuseries offers an intimate exploration of Cooper’s journey from a self-conscious teenager in Pennsylvania to a leading voice in modern podcasting.

Directed by Ry Russo-Young and produced by Cooper’s own Unwell Productions, Call Her Alex delves into the formative experiences that shaped Cooper’s life and career. The series provides a behind-the-scenes look at her evolution from a Division I soccer player at Boston University to the creator of a media empire that redefined conversations around women’s empowerment and sexuality.

A significant and poignant revelation in the documentary is Cooper’s account of alleged sexual harassment by her former Boston University soccer coach, Nancy Feldman. Cooper alleges that during her sophomore year, Feldman fixated on her, making inappropriate comments about her body, asking invasive questions about her personal life, and engaging in unwanted physical contact. Despite reporting these incidents to university officials, Cooper claims that no action was taken, leading her to leave the team before her senior year.

Feldman, who retired in 2022 after a distinguished coaching career, has not publicly responded to the allegations. Boston University has also refrained from commenting on the matter.

Cooper’s decision to share her experience comes after a decade of silence, driven by fear of retaliation and concern over the potential impact on her scholarship and future. She expressed that speaking out was empowering and necessary to expose the power dynamics and institutional inaction she experienced.

Beyond this revelation, Call Her Alex chronicles Cooper’s ascent in the media landscape. Starting with the launch of “Call Her Daddy” in 2018, the podcast quickly gained popularity for its candid discussions on sex and relationships. Cooper’s savvy navigation of the media industry led to lucrative deals, including a $60 million agreement with Spotify and a $125 million contract with SiriusXM, solidifying her status as a media mogul.

The documentary also offers glimpses into Cooper’s personal life, including her marriage to producer Matt Kaplan and her preparations for her first live tour. Through candid interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, viewers gain insight into the challenges and triumphs that have defined Cooper’s journey.

While Call Her Alex has been praised for its emotional depth and transparency, some critics argue that it functions more as a promotional piece for Cooper’s brand than a comprehensive exploration of her life. Nonetheless, the series marks a significant moment in Cooper’s career, highlighting her resilience and commitment to empowering others through storytelling.

As Cooper continues to influence the media landscape, Call Her Alex stands as a testament to her impact and the importance of addressing systemic issues facing women in sports and media.
