Jessie J, who welcomed her son Sky Safir with boyfriend Chanan Safir Colman in May 2023, recently addressed swirling rumors about her possibly expecting another child. The singer, who is known for her empowering hits like “Price Tag,” took to social media to set the record straight following comments from her followers.
On March 25, Jessie posted a photo dump on Instagram, featuring candid moments with her son, as well as a snapshot of her playing the piano. These images sparked a flurry of speculation among fans, with some interpreting a particular selfie—where Jessie rested her hand on her stomach—as a sign that she was pregnant again. One fan commented, “I thought there was a baby on the way,” while another wrote in distress, “First pic… Don’t you ever do this to me again. I was in tears thinking about baby 2.”
In response to the speculation, the 36-year-old singer quickly clarified that she wasn’t expecting and was instead focused on her music career. Jessie, who hasn’t released a full album since her 2018 holiday-themed project This Christmas Day, has been teasing new material since last October. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of her next album, which she has been working on for several months.
In a video posted on Instagram, Jessie shared a snippet of her unreleased ballad “The Awards Goes To,” explaining the emotional significance of the song. She wrote that she composed the track shortly after firing her manager three years ago for not supporting her career. Despite her attempts to release it when she was six months pregnant, Jessie revealed that her former label blocked the release. “Even though this song is still not available to buy, I sing it because the clarity and strength it gives me has made me make some of the best decisions in my career and life to date,” Jessie explained.
While Jessie’s music career has had its challenges, she remains optimistic. She’s currently “manifesting” that both this song and the full album will see the light of day this year.
Jessie’s return to music comes after a transformative journey to motherhood. A little over a year after sharing her heartbreaking miscarriage experience, she welcomed Sky Safir with Chanan in May 2023. Reflecting on the life-changing moment, Jessie wrote on her Instagram Stories, “A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love.”
For now, Jessie J continues to focus on her new musical journey while enjoying life with her son and her partner, leaving baby rumors in the past.
