From 1947 to 1969, it operated as a classified film studio for the U.S. Air Force and Atomic Energy Commission, documenting nuclear weapons testing. The facility featured a soundstage, screening rooms, editing suites, and vaults, and was staffed by both military personnel and Hollywood technicians .
