A Special Duet After the Storm
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is known for keeping fans on the edge of their seats, and her July 1 concert in Cincinnati, Ohio, was no exception. The show, which had already been affected by unexpected weather delays, saw an extra special moment when Swift brought out Gracie Abrams for the first time to perform together.
After performing Ivy with Aaron Dessner, Swift announced that she was bringing out one of her opening acts, Gracie Abrams, to duet on stage. “She’s one of my favorite friends and I love her so much. We haven’t sung together before, so I wanted to bring Gracie out on stage,” Swift told the crowd, explaining that Abrams, who was initially meant to perform earlier, missed her set due to the weather changes.
A Weather Delay and a New Setlist
Earlier in the day, Swift took to Twitter to inform fans of a “weather situation” that caused her to start the show an hour early. Originally, Abrams and MUNA were scheduled to perform before Swift took the stage, but with the changes, Abrams’ slot was cut. Instead, Swift performed a cover of Abrams’ I Miss You, I’m Sorry for the Ohio crowd, playing it on her acoustic guitar while Gracie accompanied her on piano.
Fans in attendance were quick to react, with one commenting on social media that the moment felt “extra special” given the circumstances.
Swift’s Surprising Setlist
Swift, who has been known for throwing surprise songs into her performances, didn’t disappoint during this show. In addition to her duets with Abrams, she performed “Call It What You Want” from Reputation and hinted at upcoming songs from Speak Now—her next album to get the Taylor’s Version treatment. Fans also got a taste of the reworked Dear John when she performed it as a surprise track.
“I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19, except the songs I wrote,” Swift explained to the crowd, reaffirming her commitment to re-recording her albums to regain control of her music.
Taylor’s Evolving Eras Tour
The Eras Tour is Swift’s first major tour since 2018’s Reputation tour. It celebrates all her musical phases, including her re-recorded albums, and features at least two surprise songs per performance, adding to the thrill for fans who never know exactly what they’ll hear each night.
With the inclusion of Speak Now songs ahead of the album’s re-release on July 7, the tour continues to evolve and provide unique experiences for fans. Each show is filled with unexpected twists, emotional performances, and a deep connection to the music and memories Swift has shared with her audience over the years.
