Machine Gun Kelly had an unexpected encounter during his appearance at the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit in Cleveland, Ohio. While speaking at his event, A Playbook To Building An Empire: Town Hall With Machine Gun Kelly, a man rushed the stage, forcing the rocker to spring into action.
The unidentified individual disrupted the session, prompting Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker, to jump up with clenched fists, visibly alarmed. As seen in videos shared by fans on Instagram, the 33-year-old performer immediately confronted the intruder, telling him, “My man, get the f–k away from me! Yo, what are you doing? What are you doing? This is a bad look. Don’t make me do this.”
Security swiftly responded, escorting the man off the stage as Kelly regained his composure and returned to his seat. The interviewer later asked if he was alright, to which Kelly responded humorously, “You know what? Maybe that was a good idea for him ’cause maybe he had a great idea.”
Kelly took a moment to reflect on the situation, offering an apology for his initial reaction. “I try to live in the dichotomy more on this side than the other guy,” he explained. “I left that guy in the past. I’m really sorry. I do apologize for my primal reaction.”
Despite the unsettling interruption, Kelly seemed to show empathy for the man. He later admitted that the incident still affected him, confessing that his energy felt “a little scattered” after the disruption. “I empathize and feel for the guy but yeah, it is a time and a place,” Kelly said. “I don’t ever wanna shoot down anyone’s dream.” He added that as the man was being removed, he saw something in the intruder’s eyes and thought to himself, “Ah, you’re a good kid.”
Machine Gun Kelly’s candid reaction highlights his complex persona—someone who is aware of his primal instincts but also compassionate and reflective. Even in moments of chaos, the rocker showed a human side, expressing care for the person who had disrupted his talk, despite the initial confrontation.
